Life presents us with many challenges.  At the same time, those challenges provide opportunities for positive change.  I see my role as collaboratively working with my clients to understand those challenges and work toward transforming those challenges into positive change. I know that therapy and making changes in our lives can seem overwhelming.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have.  If you are reading this, congratulations for taking one of the first and most important steps toward making the changes in your life that you desire!

My approach to therapy services is to provide the support needed to make those desired changes.  That includes listening, understanding, providing feedback, suggestions, or another perspective.  That can also include suggesting a little homework as I believe a lot of changes can be made outside of our sessions. I see my role as supporting my clients in finding their own inner wisdom to solve problems which I believe we each possess.  I understand that the connection and relationship between client and therapist is the most important factor having a positive, successful experience with therapy.

I have 30 years of experience providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of issues.  I have experience providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy for building skills to regulate emotions.  I have experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which focuses on changing thoughts and behaviors in order to change our emotions.  I have experience and a particular passion for helping clients to heal from past trauma.  My educational background includes a master’s in social work from New York University.
