what to expect

At Brightways, we offer a welcoming, inclusive environment and a range of therapy and psychiatric medication management services. Our team is here to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered every step of the way.

Getting started is simple. When you're ready, click the ‘Seek Services’ button (also located in the upper right-hand corner of our website). You’ll be guided through a brief, real-time pre-intake consultation via our secure web form. This helps us understand your needs right away and match you with the right provider - without waiting for a separate appointment. Prefer a different path? You can also get started by having your PCP or another provider refer you, or by giving us a call. No matter how you reach out, we respond quickly and compassionately.

After your consultation: You'll be able to choose whether you'd like services in-person or via telehealth, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. Once matched with a provider, your appointment time will be reserved weekly to support consistent, focused care.

frequently asked questions

Will you give me advice or tell me what to do?

Therapy is a safe space to share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. Your provider will use their training and experience to help you discover, restore, and empower yourself. They won't tell you what to do but will work collaboratively with you to explore options, understand your feelings, and develop strategies that align with your goals and values. This ensures you remain in control of your treatment and feel supported in making choices that are right for you.

How long does psychiatric medication management typically last?

The duration of psychiatric medication management varies based on individual needs but does require regular follow-ups to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed. All clients are initially scheduled to meet with their clinician once a week, and in some cases, the duration is adjusted to less frequent as treatment progresses. The goal with psychiatric medication management at Brightways is to find what works for you. Once your medication(s) are stable, your clinician and your PCP will connect to determine whether long term medication management is best provided by them (PCP) or Brightways.

How long will it take to see a provider?

New openings to see a provider are available every day. Being flexible with your availability helps us schedule the quickest appointment for you. At Brightways, we’re dedicated to getting everyone ready and engaged in services as quickly as possible.

How often will I come to therapy?

We recommend weekly appointments, especially at the beginning of your therapy journey. This helps build momentum and allows you to make more progress in a shorter amount of time. Think of it like building a strong foundation – the more consistent you are early on, the more effective your therapy can be. Over time, you and your therapist can decide together if it makes sense to adjust the frequency of your sessions based on your needs and goals.

How long will it take before I feel better?

Therapy is both an art and a science, and there's no exact timeline for when you'll start to feel better. Everyone's journey is unique. The good news is, talking about your concerns is one of the fastest and most effective ways to address them. If you choose psychiatric care, it's important to remember that responses to medication can vary from person to person. Following your clinician's recommendations, taking your medication as prescribed, keeping your appointments, and discussing any concerns with your provider are crucial for making necessary adjustments. This collaborative approach helps ensure you find the solution that works best for you as quickly as possible. Whatever your specific journey, we'll regularly check in on your progress and see how things are going. Together, we'll identify any remaining challenges and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Remember, it's a process, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

When are my medications refilled?

Medications are refilled at the time of the appointment. If you miss an appointment, please call 541-904-5216 to reschedule as soon as possible.

Do you offer telehealth services?

Yes! We offer telehealth services, also known as secure video conferencing. Our robust team of therapists and psychiatric mental health providers provide both therapy and medication management services through telehealth. This allows us to deliver high-quality care to our clients in a convenient and accessible manner, regardless of their location.
