Knowing that making the decision to seek out therapy takes an immense amount of courage, strength, and motivation, I take a collaborative and non-judgmental approach in my practice to help you feel a great sense of comfort with the therapeutic process. I believe that you are the expert of your own life experience, and an integral part of therapeutic success. We will work together to help you achieve your goals in various aspects of your life. I focus on treating the whole person, and I utilize an integrative approach, including collaborating with other providers, to ensure the best quality care for my clients. My research background strongly informs my clinical practice by way of engaging in continuous education on the most current and effective evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Additionally, I strongly believe in providing multiculturally competent counseling, and continuing to grow and learn in this area.

I am passionate about increasing accessibility to mental health care to diverse populations via research and clinical work. I have experience working with different age groups including adolescents, young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, career issues, co-occurring disorders, relationship issues, trauma, suicide, and identity. I commonly utilize several modalities in my clinical approach including CBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Relational-Cultural Therapy. I am currently in the process of working on becoming an EMDR Certified Therapist.

I earned my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Syracuse University, where I came to understand the importance of working collaboratively with various healthcare providers. Shortly after earning my master’s degree, I moved to Reno, NV to pursue a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. Throughout my time in the program, I conducted research and expanded my knowledge of counseling, supervision, advocacy, and counselor training. Shortly after completing my doctoral degree, I moved to Seattle, WA where I worked as a professor in a master’s counseling program. I recently moved back to Reno, NV and obtained licensure as a LCPC in both Colorado and Nevada, and LPC in Oregon. I am incredibly excited to contribute my counseling expertise and diverse perspective to this wonderful community.

I strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance and engage in self-care regularly with the intention of showing up as my best self for my clients. In my personal time, I enjoy going on walks with my partner and two adorable Pomsky puppies, Benny and Jetson. I also enjoy baking and sharing delicious pastry treats - macarons are my specialty. I thoroughly enjoy a good game of basketball, as well as watching collegiate and professional games.
