In the process of navigating this journey we call life we all inevitably experience some kind of hurt in the many forms that it can manifest, which leads to reliance on varying survival strategies in order to get by. I believe that helping clients recognize and transform their survival strategies in mindful, compassionate, and curious awareness and exploration throughout the therapeutic journey can be powerfully transformative. My passion is helping clients get back in touch with whole person they are by helping them work through and heal from the impacts of the hurts of life, while helping them find ways of thriving instead of surviving and relying on longstanding and limiting patterns and ways of orienting to life and others.
I utilize a gentle and curious approach that is grounded in mindfulness and compassion. Most of my training and background is rooted in mindfulness and somatic based psychotherapy that incorporates all aspects of the client, including the body. I like to pull from a wide array of modalities and techniques depending on what's presenting in the moment and what the client needs. Some of the other approaches to therapy that I like to incorporate include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Attachment Based Therapy modalities.
I received a master's in Marriage, Couple and Family therapy from Lewis and Clark College in Portland in 2019. I completed extensive training and an internship at the former M.E.T.A Counseling Clinic in Portland where I received training and supervision in implementing the Hakomi approach to therapy while completing training in Hakomi Professional Skills as well as Primary Attachment Therapy.
