Therapy is a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to talk about scary, overwhelming or difficult things as away of understanding and overcoming our suffering.  I believe people are intelligent and resilient and need support and validation to thrive. It takes courage to express feelings or revisit painful experiences, and I respect that process for clients by encouraging them to set the pace.

I believe therapy is most effective when therapist and client together build a strong and trusting container to hold the feelings, thoughts and experiences of the client. As a therapist trained in experiential and behavioral modalities, I bring tools from evidenced based practices to increase insight, and a warm and welcoming presence to sessions. When working with children and families, I use play, humor, and expressive activities to encourage participation.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies in 2012. I have a history of engaging clients in assessment, family therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, Expressive Arts Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I love to work with individuals, kids, teens and families to increase communication and co-regulation, build compassion, self-understanding and hope. Together we find strategies to build skills and realize strengths while addressing concerns related to ADHD, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Family Conflict, Medical diagnosis, Parenting, Phobias, Self-worth, Self-esteem building, Peer/social concerns and Trauma.
