I believe human beings have a strong desire to feel seen, understood, and safe. Therapy is a space to slow down, create safety, and work toward honesty about what is difficult, while making room for something new and possibly magical to be born. My approach is open, curious, and hopeful, honoring each person’s autonomy, choice, and agency in their healing while creating space for creativity, playfulness, and moments of joy. I support clients, including children and their families, adolescents, and adults, in exploring wounded parts, resolving difficulties, and examining traumas and life changes as they navigate their own journey and healing process.
My work draws on a variety of approaches to support each person's unique experience, as I have supported people with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, grief/loss, life changes and stressors, eating disorders, shame, self-worth struggles, and attachment trauma. I approach everyone I work with from a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, with training in Gestalt/parts work, Somatic, Play therapy, and Existential therapy. I also draw on other important therapies and behavioral approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamics, Health at Every Size (H.A.E.S), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
My educational background includes an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I have a B.A. in Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
