I understand what it is to feel overwhelmed by life's burdens, to try so hard and yet realize that hurt is not lessening. You are not alone. As a Professional Counselor Associate I will come alongside you to listen to your story, to believe you, and to support you as your wounds lessen. In their stead may come a more peaceful, stronger you. The journey sometimes begins with touching on past or current hurts, but I will offer you an outsider's perspective that challenges ways of thinking or behaving that get in the way of moving you from those places toward a future that you choose.
I believe in your worth as an individual and hold to the hope that you can grow. It is my privilege to offer you grace and patience, while bringing new insights to encourage you in your goals. My approach to counseling is primarily client-centered while drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy and structural therapy. That being said, I adjust skill-sets based on what is most helpful for your particular needs and personhood. I have experience working with an array of needs including: recovery for victims of abuse, recovery for abusers, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorders, panic disorders, social anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, and more.
I hold a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University of Newberg, Oregon. This includes formal training in individual, marital and family therapy. In pursuit of furthering my professional development, I am a Professional Counselor Associate who is under licensed supervision with an approved supervisor under the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Jamie Eastman, LPC, Licensed Supervisor.
